Suwannee Forest Products was completely family-owned and operated from 1954 to 2013, when we consulted with an investment firm about our growth and maximizing production at our manufacturing facilities. In June 2013, we sold majority shares to Blue Wolf Capital – a private equity firm positioned to help Suwannee Forest Products grow and continue to be a leader in our industry.
We proudly maintain the very same principles and company values as we did back in 1954. Our lumber division, Suwannee Timber Management, currently operates an impressive 150 million board foot sawmill operation on Florida’s Gulf of Mexico in Cross City, Florida. Our ground cover division, Suwannee River Mulch and Soil, is poised for steady growth and prepared to become the main supplier of mulch in the Southeastern United States. We have grown tremendously since we opened over 60 years ago because of our commitment to quality products, unsurpassed customer service, and our pledge to only use the best timber, soil, and ground cover materials available. Presently, our three production facilities located in Cross City, Florida, Live Oak, Florida, and Adel, Georgia produce Southern yellow pine decking and dimensional lumber, cypress mulch, pine bark, and ground cover.
Additionally, we offer our own premium soil products that are sold to retailers, hardware stores, and garden centers in the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeastern United States. To further solidify our role as the industry leader, two of our three production facilities are now completely automated. Suwannee Forest Products operates its own trucking fleet and logging operations solely dedicated to our mulch, bark, and soil production facilities.
